On the 17th of May, The Prince Akatoki London in Marylebone reopened the doors to its 5-star hotel, Japanese fusion restaurant TOKii and The Malt Lounge and Bar. With tranquility at the forefront, The Prince Akatoki London will offer a one-of-a-kind urban sanctuary for guests to relax, eat, drink and unwind with friends and family once more.
Throughout lockdown, The Prince Akatoki London has been busy developing exciting new offerings for its guests to enjoy. For the very first time, TOKii will launch a weekend brunch menu complete with bottomless sparkling sake, while The Malt Lounge and Bar will be transformed by a stunning scape of Japanese cherry blossoms as they celebrate Sakura season. The TOKii kitchen has also created a Japanese inspired picnic hamper, the perfect accompaniment to a warm afternoon in nearby Hyde Park.
TOKii’s Spring Menu and Buddha Bowls
TOKii’s new spring menu uses fresh and seasonal ingredients designed to bring the best of Eastern and Western flavours together. Highlights include Green tea cured mackerel with shaved fennel, wakame and pea shoots and Herb marinated tofu with soba noodles, cherry tomatoes and balsamic vinegar dressing from the Cold Dishes section. New Hot Dishes comprise Teriyaki glazed duck
breast with orange, toasted coconut and peanut salad and Lobster croquettes with yuzu and mango salsa. TOKii’s signature dishes will make a welcome return including the Hot stone wagyu grade A4 beef with grilled vegetables, spicy ponzu and Japanese mustard mayo alongside a full menu of Nigiri, Sashimi and Sushi Roll options. TOKii’s kitchen has also created a new Buddha Bowls menu – including the Summer Fruits, a mix of brown rice, gem lettuce, cucumber, avocado, cherry tomatoes, cherries, blueberries, watermelon, a hard boiled egg, sesame oil, red Gomashio and seasoned nuts – offering guests an ideal lighter lunch alternative. Take away options are also available at TOKii, or via delivery from Monday to Sunday 12pm to 10pm on Deliveroo and SUPPER.
TOKii’s Bottomless Brunch
To mark the reopening, TOKii will debut their new bottomless brunch menu. The perfect opportunity to reunite with friends and family after too much time apart. The weekend brunch menu includes the choice of bottomless sparkling sake or prosecco, alongside a collection of traditional brunch & Japanese dishes. Highlights include the Akaokti Breakfast, a tamago omelette with miso soup, rice, steamed vegetables, grilled salmon and egg tofu, Buttermilk pancakes with fresh berries, bananas and maple syrup and Smoked haddock and salmon kedgeree with rice, a boiled egg and curry sauce. TOKii’s brunch menu is available on Saturdays and Sundays from 11am until 3pm, with bottomless sparkling sake or prosecco priced at £25pp.
TOKii’s Picnic Hampers
For those wishing to escape the indoors, the TOKii kitchen has created beautiful picnic hampers complete with traditional sparkling sake or prosecco. Guests can expect snacks of Spiced roasted almonds and Scotch quail eggs, followed by a range of delicious sandwiches from Honey roast ham with piccalilli, Grated cheddar with apple and raisin chutney to a Chicken teriyaki bun. A selection of fresh, seasonal salads including Edamame and runner beans with popped amaranth seeds will also be included, alongside tempting desserts of Chocolate and cherry brownie, Yuzu crème brûlée and Raspberry tart. For the ultimate celebration, guests can also add sharing cocktails to their hampers, including a bottled Aperol Spritz and Pimm’s. Picnic hampers are priced at £100 for two and collection is directly at the restaurant or available for delivery with Deliveroo and SUPPER. Picnic hampers collected at TOKii must be returned back to the restaurant.
The Malt Lounge and Bar’s Sakura Season
The Malt Lounge and Bar has been transformed by a beautiful Japanese cherry blossom installation in celebration of Sakura season. Created in partnership with House of Suntory, The Malt Lounge and Bar Manager Simone Falconi has crafted a collection of specially made cocktails to bring a taste
of Japan to London. The menu includes the Momo Martini, a blend of Haku vodka, St. Germain, lychee water, peach honey and yuzu, the Sakura Collins, a mix of Roku gin, Mancino Secco Vermouth, Quaglia Ciliegia, hibiscus and yuzu sparkling water and the Ueno Highball, a blend of Toki whisky, Shiraume Ginjo Umeshu, plum bitters, tonka maple honey and cherry blossom tea.
Alongside The Malt Lounge and Bar’s Sakura menu, guests are able to sample a cocktail menu inspired by IKIGAI 生き甲斐, a Japanese concept that means “a reason for being”. IKIGAI refers to
having a purpose in life; that which makes one’s life worthwhile, and towards which an individual takes spontaneous actions giving them satisfaction and a sense of meaning in life. The menu includes the Bubble Beat, a blend of Kumquat and melon liqueur, Akashi-Tai yuzushu, shiso and sparkling sake and the Ikigai Call, a mix of Wagyu fat washed Toki whisky and amaro-vermouths blend.
Safety is at the heart of the hotel and The Prince Akatoki London will go above and beyond government Covid guidelines, ensuring a secure and clean environment for everyone to enjoy.
